Sustainable Business & Community Growth

With the downturn in the real estate market, it is more important now than ever to complete unfinished projects such as Rosedale and aggressively explore the possibilities in bringing the resources for various City-wide projects that has been neglected.

We have been slow in recognizing and embracing new business ventures in our Historic Downtown and beyond. In short, our economic base has not kept us competitive with the needs brought by our residents.

As your Councilmember, I will:

    • Work with developers and the community to ensure that developments are community driven;
    • Be mindful of density, traffic and parking impact on the citizens of Azusa;
    • Develop new forms of alternative transportation connecting the City to the community, students, and businesses;
    • Find a centrally located site for a community center that promotes a gathering place for cultural activities, The Arts, and After School programs;
    • Encourage consumer oriented businesses to start or relocate to Azusa.
